Karen Elizabeth George Michel

So saddened to learn of Karen's passing today. I graduated with Karen from Victoria Hospital in 1970. Karen was so liked by all in our large class and she went on to great heights in her career. Sending my sincere condolences to her family.

I am so saddened by the news of Karen's death. Our paths crossed a number of times over the years and most recently as Nurse Educators at Western. Karen was smart, articulate and compassionate. She was a true leader both as nurse and nurse educator. One could not help but be drawn to her always logical and always compelling arguments which consistently led to "do the right thing". Karen spoke proudly and lovingly about her truly supportive family with whom she lived life outside of her professional roles. My sincerest sympathy to each of you. I too will miss your Karen.

I am deeply sadden to hear of Karen's passing, she was a very special person. Karen was a professor of mine when I was is in the UWO post RN BScN program, and in later years we were teaching colleagues at the Arthur and Family Labatt School of Nursing. Karen was one of the brightest and truly genuine individuals I have had the privilege to know. She made me a better nurse, manager and teacher, due to her role modelling of excellence. I will never forget how important she was in my life, and the countless others she influenced over her career. My thoughts are with Karen's family at this very difficult time, and I hope you take comfort knowing she lived a truly meaningful life!

I too am a Victoria Hospital 1970 classmate of Karen's. I remember Karen as a very intelligent, kind, caring, soft-spoken individual, and am so sorry to hear of her too early passing. I hope warm memories of Karen help everyone through this difficult time.

Karen and I were classmates at Victoria Hospital, School of Nursing...class of 1970. We also worked together on 9th floor at Universuty Hospital where she was our Nurse Manager. Karen always pursued excellence both as a student and throughout her career....a consumate professional! So deeply saddened to hear of her passing, my condolences to you all. Karen was a classmate of mine as part of "Class of "70" Victoria Hospital.She had a life well lived but too short.My condolences to you.

I was so sorry to learn of Karen's passing. Karen contributed so much to the nursing profession and to nursing education at Western. I am so very saddened to learn of Karen's death. I too was one of the lucky nurses to work with Karen on the 9th floor at UH. She taught me so much and made me a better nurse. She was indeed a very special friend to both myself and my husband. Our sincere condolences.

Karen was also my boss on 9th floor at UH. She was a friend as well as a boss. She truly understood the problems of running a unit. My sincere condolences to all the family.
