My deepest sympathies to your Family. I was a colleague of Karen's in the NICU at St Joe's for many years. She was witty, wise & an unbelievably kind & generous person. She was a competent nurse & a beautiful soul. She will be greatly missed.

Karen was a classmate of mine from Sarnia General Hospital. Class of 68. Although we lost track over the years she had attended several class luncheons over the past few years and our 50th Reunion last year. She was a friendly, full of personality kinda gal. Have many memories from residence life all those years ago. So sorry for your loss. She will be missed.

~ Lana Polkinghorne

I had worked with Karen at St Joseph's Hospital both on Mother/Baby and in NICU. She was always very quiet but very kind. And I loved her unique sense of humour. Sorry to hear about your loss. May you treasure many fond memories.

So shocked to hear about Karen. We had no idea she was going through this difficult journey. We can only imagine your depth of grief but we truly believe she is with loved ones and adding her "spark" to those around her. Our cousin circle is broken but she will always be there in spirit. As Karen would say - "Hugs"

~ Sandy & Denny Alsop

My heartfelt condolences to your family. I was a Nursing Classmate of Karen's in Sarnia (Class '68). Quick on the uptake, her bubbly personality combined with her tender-heartedness. I will treasure the memory of the sound of her infectious laughter. She will be missed.

Karen and I shared many drives between London and Sarnia during our years at SGH as students also, to the occasional luncheon get togethers. Most recently to the reunion with our classmates. I feel sure the car was "bobbing "along the highway with all the laughter and giggles coming from within. Karen gave joy to me and many others. I feel happy that she was in my life. I will miss her. To all the family, I send my deepest sympathy.

I am so sorry to learn that Karen was ill and has left this earthly life. She was a good friend , an amazing co-worker with such patience and compassion who will be truly missed. I loved her sense of humour and we always had so many giggles when we were together. There was an aura of joy and calm when Karen was in your presence but always that ready smile. I will truly miss her but I know that she is at peace now and I hope that Kara and Brad and his family will cherish all the great memories, both big and small . Karen was a wonderful person.
