Kari Aitken passed peacefully into the presence of her Saviour, Jesus, at St. Joseph’s Hospice on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 65 years of age. Loving sister of Julia Corbett (Wayne) and adored aunt of Sam Corbett. She was predeceased by her parents, Norman and Donna (Breckman). She worked for Forte (Masonite/Herring doors) for 27 years. Kari loved to travel with her sister Julia. She was involved in her church and was a long-time member of the Gideons. She was kind and gentle, and was known for her wonderful sense of humour. I’m going to miss you so Kari rest in peace ❤️
My favorite memories of Kari will always sitting around my grandparents dining table and her laughing. She had the best laugh. We will be thinking of everyone on Saturday and sending our love.
We all loved Kari's sense of humour. To be with Kari was to laugh with Kari ... and when she got on the stage, she was in her "niche"... and we all enjoyed her dramatic way. Kari and I lived in the same apartment building once when I was in my twenties. We would sometimes have coffee together or go out for lunch. I have fond memories of Kari inviting me to the family cottage near Port Franks. It was always fun and when I met more of the family, I could see that humour was a family trait. We also had some great heart to heart talks in those days. Years flew by and we didn't really keep in touch. I was so saddened to hear the news of her passing, but I know for sure she is with Jesus now, and that is what matters. My deepest condolences to all the family.
Kari was a beloved cousin who will be greatly missed. Living in BC, I would call her and be answered by her fake Scottish accent then to be greeted with her cheerful voice. Her infectious laugh is only one of the fond memories I will hold on to. I was able to visit her a few days before her death and saw that she was at peace with her condition and was looking forward to seeing Jesus and all the relatives and friends that have passed. Though I cannot be in London to attend the memorial service. I will be wearing something purple on the day.
We have many happy memories of Kari, her bright smile, flamboyant clothing, love of drama and particularly her interest in celebrating Christmas and Easter by creating a service of traditional readings and hymns held in the West Park Chapel. These meaningful and worshipful events were a blessing to us and all who attended.
Condolences to Kari’s family and friends I worked at Harring Doors / Masonite Architectural for 9 years with Kari. Her kindness touched so many lives.
A lovely lady, kind and funny. I got to know her through our volunteering for 99.9 Faith FM. So full of life and energy, she will be missed. Condolences to her family and friends. I know that she is firmly in the care of Jesus!

“Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his faithful servants.” Psalms 116:15 We knew Kari fondly as part of our Gideon/ShareWord London chapter friend. She was warm, cheerful, humorous, loved the Lord and often was the MC for our functions/fundraisers. She came back from a mission trip to a Latin American country so excited, encouraged and with a renewed zeal for the Gospel that she wanted to go again. We are thankful we were able to visit her in May and see here peaceful, ready to see our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was curious about heaven and we read Revelation chapter 4 & 5 which lit her face up. Kari, We will miss you on earth but we will see you in heaven. Much love and blessings to Julia and Kari’s loved ones Nick and Veenet
