Kenneth Henry Drake

Kenneth Henry Drake, aged 89, of Camlachie, Ontario, passed away on October 23, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, entrepreneurship, and a love for his family.

Born on July 27, 1937, in London, Ontario, to Henry and Gladys Drake, Ken grew up with a natural love for the water and a lifelong entrepreneurial spirit. In his early days, he could often be found working as a lifeguard or out on Lake Huron, captaining the family boat for water-skiing adventures. Ken was truly in his element when hosting, whether it was an afternoon around the backyard pool, a lively summer BBQ, or a massive extended family picnic. He lived for family birthday celebrations, where he was always ready to share a great story and, inevitably, a classic corny joke. His pure zest for life and sense of humor will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Ken was blessed to experience love twice in his lifetime. He was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret Jane, with whom he shared 43 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they raised their four children, founded a successful ceramics business, and loved watching their family grow. Collectively Ken and Margaret’s legacy lives on through their four children, Kelly (Allan), Jim, Vicky, and Chris (Angela), their seven cherished grandchildren, Lauren (Tom), Julia, Stacey, Michael, Jeremy, Matthew, and Kaelyn, and great-grandson Freddy.

Later in life, Ken found companionship again with his second wife, Peggy Leonard. They blended their lives and families for 15 years until her passing. Through this union, Ken’s family circle grew, and he is lovingly remembered by his stepdaughter, Kjersten, and his step-grandson, John, and he leaves behind a host of loving extended family in the United States.

A service for Ken will be held on Friday, October 30th at 10:00 AM at Westview Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 709 Wonderland Road North, London.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in his memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
