Kenneth Raymond Ferguson
January 30, 1930 - December 31, 2025
Kenneth Raymond Ferguson has left this world to live forever with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. He is already greatly missed, but those who love his Saviour will see him again.
Ken was born in London, Ontario, to William George Kenneth Ferguson and Nellie Alice (nee Raymond). The first of four children, he is survived by siblings Donald Earl Ferguson, William Stuart Ferguson and Della Louise Rice (née Ferguson). Until the end of his life, he fulfilled his big brother role in an exemplary fashion.
Ken was devoted to his wife, Katie Louise Ferguson (née Klahsen), who predeceased him on March 4, 2023. That devotion led him to live with her in a memory ward at Fox Hollow until her death. He was also predeceased by one grandson, Edward Ferguson.
Ken is survived by his four children, David Earl and Jane Elizabeth Ferguson, Richard Michael and Carolyn Louise Egelton, William Alexander and Judith Ann Haldane, John Robert and Lorraine Ruth Ferguson, 12 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
He loved and took an interest in every member of his family. He was in close contact with all of them and was able to interact on a personal level with anyone who had a cell phone or computer.
Being a teacher was a lifelong vocation which continued until his death. After retiring from the Middlesex School Board, he homeschooled and tutored a number of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Those children whom he did not formally instruct reaped the benefit of his innate ability to teach through the games he played with them.
Up until his latest illness, Ken enjoyed reading history books and engaging in lively discussions regarding WWII. His latest bag of library books has just been returned.
The book he never tired of reading was the Bible, from which he gained all his wisdom.
He loved life, and he loved people, which was evident to anyone who had the opportunity to meet him. The twinkle in his eye would give away the fact that a corny joke might follow.
Ken was without pride and gave all the glory to God for the man he was.

Ken was a real funny awesome friend. We met my first year teaching at Arthur Ford School in London in 1969. He was supportive and encouraging. Checking in daily to make sure the rookie teacher was doing ok. Was excited to reconnect with him recently when I started attending church in Ilderton. I will miss his friendly warm smile!
