Died peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. Predeceased by his dear wife, Catherine (2006). Cherished father of Marion Buccella (Sergio), Adrian Vandenberg (Anna Anthony), and Leonie Thibert (Joe). Loving Opa to Carolyn Wright (Scott), Lisa Buccella (Jesse Attard), Shelley Matthe (Terry), Carly Vandenberg, Katie Campeau (Aaron), Joel Thibert, and Michelle Thibert. Great-Opa to Sienna, Xander, Viola, Clara, MacKay, Teagan, Shyla, Meeka, Kai, Desmond, Davin, Farrah, and Jamie. Preceded in death by Helen Mettham, whom Leo was lucky to share his life with in later years. Dear brother of Wil Vandenberg and An Vandeven in the Netherlands. Predeceased by siblings Frank, Chris, Stiena, Gerrit, and Riet.

Leo moved to Canada in 1953 and worked in the dairy industry in London and Windsor until his retirement.

A memorial visitation will be held at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Thursday, January 19, 2023 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish, 777 Valetta Street, London on Friday, January 20, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with a reception to follow. Private inurnment at St. Peter’s Holy Family Mausoleum.
