Leonard MacMullin

October 29, 2016

With his wife and children alongside him as they have been for the past 18 months during his fight with cancer, on Saturday, October 29th, 2016, Leonard Michael MacMullin, of London, at the age of 68.  Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia.  Survived by his loving wife Phyllis and their four children:  Leonard, Jr., Kevin, Jonathan (Brandi) and Nicole.  Brother of Florence, of Edmonton, AB and Jackie (Lea), of Boisedale, N. S.  Brother-in-law of Lil (Ted) and Don (Elaine).  Predeceased by parents John Dan and Elizabeth MacMullin, and sister Arlene. Uncle to Brad, Terrance, Patrick, Christopher, Matthew, Brennan, Debbie, Laverne, Dawn, Rhonda Springer, Dan, Lacey and Shari.  Great uncle and father-figure to Ava and Lincoln (his little buddy) and Riley and Bailey, Leonard was so very proud of all the kids and was always at all their events and their biggest fan.  He was their grandparent and always there for them.  He is also survived by 3 grand-aunts:  Johnahna, Theresa, and Josephine.  Leonard graduated from the Aylmer Police College in 1970 and served with the London Police Department for over 35 years.  He served on the Horton Street Seniors’ Advisory Board for 3 years after joining the club in 2010.  The family would like to thank Don (Elaine), Lil and Ted, who were extremely supportive to both Leonard and Phyllis.  We would also like to thank all the Doctors, especially Dr. Lenehan, who took great care of Leonard; his home nurse Sherry Vergilio; and the nursing staff in the chemotherapy clinic at Victoria Hospital.  Cremation has taken place.  The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. PETER’S CATHEDRAL BASILICA, 196 Dufferin Avenue, London on Monday, November 7th, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with reception to follow in the parish hall.  Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Leonard are asked to consider contributing to an account to help cover funeral expenses.
