Lilian ‘Lily’ Miriam Cherry-Callipari

I lived next door to Lilian and her family in Brossard. Neighbours for many years. Lilian was a beautiful person inside and out and I always admired her shoes...😉. We went to the same church and same high school. Had not seen any posts from Lilian in s bit and decided to let her know our High School is planning a reunion in 2023. Imagine my shock and horror to learn that she had passed on. She will remain ageless in my mind's eye. Rest in peace, Lilian. 😓

Wanted to pass along our deepest condolences. We will miss Lily’s smile and laugh. We were blessed to have known her and she was a blessing to us. I hope that our visit this earlier this week brought her some comfort. Our thought and prayers will continue to be with you and your whole family.

Lilian was born in Malaysia and left as a baby with her parents to Canada where she grew up. My memory of her as a teenager in Montreal and of her family’s visit to Malaysia where I reside is very vivid as I remember her as bubbly, cheerful and very warm person. Fifty plus years of memories of my dearest cousin. Despite her living in Canada and my parents in the US, we were fortunate that our mothers were very close sisters and visited each other when we were young kids and young adults. I will always cherish Lilian's loving, beautiful, and radiant personality. I wish her years with us were longer and our past visits more frequent, but life passes us by so fast and we miss out on so many opportunities to visit our loved ones. I live in Malaysia, Lillian's place of birth. Lillian is my cousin Joechayan's daughter. When I was told by Lillian's mum, Alicekocamma, that she was diagnosed with late stage cancer a few months ago, our families started praying for healing for Lillian. We even got connect groups in Kingdomcity to pray for her. As my wife and I journeyed with her in prayer through Whatsapp calls and texts, I knew that God was drawing her into a deeper relationship with Him. I know, without a shadow of doubt, that she remained faithful to Jesus even when she was weak physically and did not understand why. As I recall, she never uttered any words that doubted her faith in Jesus. Even when her voice sounded weak, she had joy in her voice knowing that Jesus was near. We will never know why she was taken to be with Jesus at 57 but I am believing that her story will be a living, walking testimony of her deep faith in Him and will draw many into a deeper relationship with Christ, the Author and Finisher of our faith. Praying for the peace of Jesus to be with Steve, Anjali, Alicekochamma, Alan and the family and all who are related to her as they reflect on her life. Amen.

Dear Alice Chechi, It was a shocking news to us. So sudden and heartbreaking. But God has his own plan with each and every individual. We have abide only. Be strong and may God give the strength to face the situation courageously. We remember you, Steve, Anjali, Allen and family in our prayers.

I was shocked and saddened to hear that Lil has passed away. I met Lilian when we were both teenagers growing up around Montreal. Lilian was always very open-hearted, full of laughter and experienced life to its fullest.
