Lois, we had something very special, that belonged to you and me A deeper understanding that we shared instinctively, A trusting kind of friendship other people rarely share A way of always knowing when the other needed us there…. and no matter what we’d do Shopping, lunching, talking Always something wonderful shined through. If life’s a journey, then I’m so glad l had a friend like you riding shotgun We covered a lot of miles together. I can’t imagine where I’d be without you to share so many laughs and adventures, we made some memorable detours and together always found our way. Looking back at how far we’ve travelled together l can’t imagine you not being by my side now for every mile to come I will miss you tremendously
Lois an I met in 1970, while singing together in Sweet Adelines. I could never have imagined that meeting would be the beginning of a friendship that would last nearly 60 wonderful years. Through all those years Lois was always there for me - in good times, the difficult times, and all the moments in between. She was not simply my best friend, she was a part of my life and a part of my heart. After our husbands passed away, Lois and I shared a wonderful new chapter together. We travelled, laughed, explored and made memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life. We went to the Bahamas and many other places, but our trip to New Orleans will always be especially dear to me. Lois loved jazz, and sitting together at Preservation Hall, surrounded by the music she loved, is a memory I will hold onto forever. After nearly six decades of friendship, it is almost impossible to imagine my life without Lois in it. I will miss her laughter, her companionship, her kindness and simply knowing she was there. I loved Lois dearly and I will miss her more than words can say. But I am so grateful for the beautiful years we shared, the adventures we had, and the countless memories that no one can ever take away. Goodbye my dear friend. You will always be in my heart.

I first met Lois when I was a young girl and, to be honest, she scared me a little bit. Lois was so different from other women of the time. Her immaculate style was bold, her take-charge manner oozed with confidence, and she was VERY outspoken, blazing a trail through ManWorld…all unusual traits for a woman in the 1970s. And boy, could she sing! Her rich, deep voice would reverberate throughout our house during those late-night rehearsals with my mother, lulling me to sleep. Throughout the years Lois was always a dedicated friend to my mother. To me she was both a style icon and a role model of a strong, independent career woman. I am so grateful that she was a part of our lives.
