Lori Hicks

December 8, 2013

Family surrounded Lori as she passed peacefully at Parkwood Hospital on Sunday, December 8th, 2013.  Amazing Mother of Bryant Baker (Lindsay Farrer) and Ben Baker (Adrienne Kennedy).  Loving sister of Mike Hicks (Karen), Bill Hicks (Beth), Chris Hicks (John Benoit), Al Hicks (Kerri), Marilyn Olsen (Doug) and Judy Hull (Steve).  Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Lori’s family would like to express their extreme gratitude to her doctors, nurses, and care workers over the years for their exceptional care and compassion.  The family would appreciate if those attending bring a special memory or photo to share with the family.  A Celebration of Life will be conducted at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North on Sunday, December 15th, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation two hours prior.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Lori are asked to consider the “Participation House – Lori Hicks Travel Fund” or the London and District Myeloma Support Group.

To Lori's family, Lori was in my grade 13 class at Pauline Johnson high school in Brantford. We soon became good friends and she taught me alot about life. That year was a wild ride for both of us and we had so much fun. I'll always remember her laugh, her wisdom and the grasp she had on life. I'd see her here in London occasionally, but we never had a chance to truly reminisce. Seeing the notice in the paper stunned me and I feel like part of me is missing now. I hope your memories and all these wonderful tributes to her help to ease your pain. Sincerely, Deb Wolski
