Peacefully on Wednesday, February 8th, 2012 at Victoria Hospital in her 81st year. Beloved wife of Gordon Reid for 62 years. Loving mother of Linda Reid (Joe Holborn) of Harriston; Donna Summerton (Don) of Strathroy; Kathy McLean (Michael) of Perth; Barbara Chasteen (Dave) of Dayton, Ohio; and Ruth Ann Roper (Dave) of St. Thomas. Cherished old grandma of 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. The world has lost a truly loving soul, that will be remembered always. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at 109 Kittridge Avenue East, Strathroy, on Sunday, February 19th, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Lorraine are asked to consider the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario.

To the family and friends of Lorraine Reid: I am truly sorry for your loss. Our loving creator has provided hope and comfort to help us through such difficult times. Isiah 33:24 promises a time when "no resident will say "I am sick".....John 5: 28,29 promises a resurrection.... Rev. 21:4 promises a time when there will be no pain, outcry or even death......The time will soon come when these scriptures will be fulfilled. In the meantime hold on to the memories of your loved one and prepare yourselves that you may be there to greet her when the time comes.
Mrs.Reid was a wonderful lady ,always friendly and smiling i talked with her several times on the front porch or while i was out back and she was sitting in her kitchen with the window open i will trully miss not seeing her and chatting she was a wonderful lady always had a smile my condolences to her sweet husband daughters and her son inlaw dave and greatgrandson harley and her other family she will be greatly missed your in my thoughts and prayers .............always cynthia next door
