After a full and happy life, Madeleine passed away peacefully at Queen’s Village Retirement Residence on Wednesday, August 24th, 2011, Mrs. Madeleine (Hennigar) (Szumlinski) Gates of London in her 85th year. Beloved wife of the late Beverly Gates (2006), Harry Szumlinski (1996) and L. Hedley Hennigar (1978). Loving mother of Judi Dueck, Donna and her husband Jim Pettit, and Larry and Kelly Hennigar. Dear sister of the late Albert and Gilbert Gagnon. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Christie, Joshua, Jared and Korey Dueck; Michael, Lucas and Nicole Wales; and Christopher Hennigar and several great-grandchildren. Also lovingly remembered by her step family Jane McManus, Dick Szumlinski and Susan Merry and families. Will be missed by her best friend Dee Harris of 58 years. Memorial service will be held at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Sunday, August 28th, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior.
