Margaret Deanne Roussel (née McKenzie)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Deanne (née MacKenzie) Roussel. Peacefully at University Hospital, London, ON, on Saturday, September 13, 2025, in her 84^th year. She was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, to the late Roderick and Eva (Samskar) Mackenzie. Loving mother of Linda (Ken) Norton, Collette Roussel, Victor (Toni) MacPherson, Aaron MacPherson, and Joyce (Stan) Sawicki. Missed by six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, 18 nieces, and nephews. Deanne will also be missed by her brother-in-law, Jerry MacNeil, and predeceased by her beloved husband, John; daughter, Lisa Roussel; brothers, Victor and Roderick MacKenzie; sister, Joyce (husband John Campbell); and twin sister Donna McNeil.

Deanne Roussel was a nurse and then worked as an Administrator for nursing homes, where she spent the majority of her working career and retired from. She loved helping and interacting with people. In her days at Mount Hope, she enjoyed being on the Residence Council and Residence Dietary Counsel. She also loved painting, poetry and watching professional skating.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the ICU staff at University Hospital for their incredible care and compassion. The family would also like to thank the Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care for the care and compassion they have shown over the last few years.

Cremation has taken place. On Saturday, October 25th, at 11:15 a.m., there will be a procession from Westview Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 709 Wonderland North, to a brief gravesite service at Woodland Cemetery, 793 Springbank Drive, London, at 11:30 a.m. If desired, donations can be made on Deanne’s behalf to Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care.
