Margaret Elizabeth Hutcheson (Burns)
August 12, 2017
July 15, 1935 – August 12, 2017
At LHSC-Victoria Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, London, on Saturday, August 12, 2017, Margaret Elizabeth Hutcheson, after a short illness. Loving mother of John (Ruth), Susan and Brenda (Joe), and grandmother to Michael, Jessica and Travis, all of London. Wife of George, whom she married September 10, 1954. Margaret was born in London to Elizabeth Ratcliffe and Alex K. Burns. Predeceased by her parents; only sister Marlyn (1939); and daughter, Joanne (1964). A graduate of Beck Collegiate, Margaret worked before and after starting her family as a legal secretary, and ultimately retired in 1991 after a decade working for the Province of Ontario. She spent many happy summers as a young woman on the shores of Lake Huron with her extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins, and fulfilled a long-term dream when she and George purchased a winter home in 1989 in Port Charlotte, Florida. Cremation has taken place. At Margaret’s request, there will be no public memorial. Interment in Woodland Cemetery, London. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to all of the caring staff at Longworth Retirement Home for their attention and support of Margaret during her too brief time there. Thanks also to Brigitte in the ER and all of the staff on D6-400 and the Palliative unit, especially Jenn, who helped Mom as her illness progressed so rapidly. Donations may be made to the London Regional Cancer Program.

My condolences to the Ruth, John and the family. Prayers being sent your way. Lucia
Sorry for this great loss Ruth and family
I worked with Marg (as we called her) at the Ministry of Community and Social Services back in the 80's and I can attest that she was a wonderfully elegant, beautiful woman. She actually loaned me some earrings to have something borrowed for my wedding. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends for sure. May she rest in peace. God bless you all during this very difficult time. Sincerely, Anna
