October 5, 1931 – October 6, 2015
On a gentle wind her soul left us to join her parents and other family in her heavenly home. Born in Georgetown, Guyana, Peggy was the beloved wife of John; cherished mother of Toni, Christina (Henricus), Thomas (Mary) and Robina (Arthur); adored grandma of Nicholas, Eilish (Gordon), Rayne, Savion, Jurnee and Nathaniel; great-grandma of Tessa and Grady, and a dear aunt and cousin to her family in England. Peggy was a woman of great faith, which sustained throughout her life. She was a member of the Bahá’í Faith. She was a teacher, without knowing it; one of her greatest gifts was in recent months when she taught her family and those around her, how to die with dignity. She will be sadly missed by all who knew this gentle and kind woman. The family would like to thank Dr. Kylea Potvin and the entire team at the London Regional Cancer Clinic for the wonderful care they gave her over the years; the Palliative Care team (through CCAC), who cared for her in the past couple of months at home, and the medical team; nursing staff, PSWs, volunteers, and staff of St. Joseph’s Hospice, London which made her earthly departure a little easier; their kindness and support to both Peggy and her family will never be forgotten. The family would also like to thank all family, friends and colleagues for their support, kind words and prayers. A service to celebrate Peggy’s life will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment to follow at Pond Mills Cemetery. Peggy has requested, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to ACT Now Patient Assistance Fund c/o the London Health Sciences Foundation or St. Joseph’s Hospice, London.

Peggy was a wonderful woman-she was so kind to us when we returned from Africa. Her smile and her fun enriched our lives Our prayers are with you all. Peace and love. Colin Forbes.
Dearest Lord Family, we will always cherish the memories we spent with Peggy/Mrs. Lord. What we remember most was her beautiful smile, warm disposition, always caring and enjoying everyone around her. We are glad that she always had her family close to her and know that the loss is felt with us far away from her as well. I've always liked this quote from Walt Whitman, "“The best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more, that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds.” This is how Peggy lived and with her death, I feel there is peace in her heart. Know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and the entire family. Joanne & Jimmy Brownrigg
