Peacefully in London, Ontario on April 14, 2016 in her 80th year. Cherished wife of Jack Ernst of London for 57 years. Loving mother of John Ernst (Christine Fulford) of Ottawa, and Janet (Paul) Raboud of Toronto. Dear grandmother of Peter and Mark Raboud of Toronto. Survived by her brother-in-law Donald (Janet) Watts of St. John, NB, and sister-in-law Beryl Chestney of Mahone Bay, NS. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Pauline Ingraham and Givan Anthony and sister Natalie Watts. Margot will be remembered for her kind and gentle nature, great empathy and quiet wisdom. A tree will be planted in her memory in Springbank Park, where she loved to walk. She also loved to read and shared that joy with her children and others. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Margot are asked to consider The Love of Reading Foundation, the Children’s Book Bank in Toronto, or a charity of their choice. A memorial reception will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Saturday, April 30th, 2016 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.

We loved Margot so much ! She was near and dear to our heart all the time. I will treasure our beautiful supper in Halifax last summer. Thinking of you at this difficult time and sending all our love, Cynthia, Allan, Adam and Colin xo
I remember Margot fondly from my first meeting at Sunday school primary class, where Margot and Natalie were dressed alike in their plaid skirts, white blouses and patent leather shoes. Later I knew her in high school, where she would be seen at the centre of an animated group of friends. Our families kept in touch as she and Jack moved from one mining town to another and she kept us abreast of the progress of John and Janet. Natalie and I were always informed of her family life by means of well typed letters, and the occasional phone call. Margot approached life fearlessly and with good humour. We always enjoyed her visits, which usually included John and Janet and sometimes Jack, if his work schedule permitted. As her children moved into their own lives, our contacts were fewer, but no less pleasant. I will miss Margot's cheery personality, and treasure her memory.
Dear Jack, John and Janet, We will undoubtedly share some of your pain, as we too, will miss Margot dearly. She was a much-loved and very special aunt to me and a very kind and warm person to all of us. I feel lucky to have spent a lovely evening with Jack and Margot in Halifax last summer. This is among many of the treasured memories I have of Margot. Our sincerest condolences to all of you during this very difficult time. You are in our thoughts and prayers and Margot will remain in our hearts forever. Love from the Cochranes- Margo, David, Susannah and Robert.

Hi Jack, John and Janet, Our sincere sympathies to all of you. We remember the nice visit we had with you and Margot quite a number of years ago. I also knew Natalie from, I believe, my UNB days. If you ever come east Jack be sure to get in touch with us. We live in the town I was born in. Jim & Marilyn
