Marianne Schaefer
May 19, 2026
Marianne passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, on May 19, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories, laughter, and unwavering devotion to those she loved most.
After almost 34 years apart, she is now reunited with her beloved husband, John, the love of her life. Their love story was one that endured through time, and her family finds comfort knowing they are together again. She is also reunited with her dear daughter-in-law Jennifer, her sister Sandra, and her parents, all of whom she deeply loved and missed.
She was a devoted mother to Todd (Jennifer, predeceased), Kelly (Brian) and Allison (Mark), and a proud and loving grandmother to Courtney, Haylie, Aiden, Johnny (Zara), Matthew (Samantha), and Emma. Her family was always her greatest joy and highest priority. Nothing mattered more to her than gathering everyone together, sharing stories, offering support, and making sure those she loved felt cared for.
She will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and quick wit. Her warmth, strength, and love created the foundation of her family, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we take comfort in knowing she is reunited with John and Jenny.
A private family service will be held on Monday May 25, 2026 at Westview Funeral Home, London. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or Breast Cancer Canada.

It’s with sadness we send our condolences. Aunt Mammie ( as she was known to us) was an awesome aunt growing up, very caring and always had a smile and a laugh. We are going to miss our visits , our girls loved her story telling ( with the odd swear word) and her infectious giggle. Have comfort knowing she is back with Uncle John. To the whole Schaefer family, I remember Mrs. Schaefer as a beautiful, loving, steadfast, prideful Mom in all that she did. She had a profound impact on my life as someone that was always there, listening, speaking from her heart and providing great advice. She was another role model during my young adult life and was part of shaping the mother I became. I can think of so many fun loving stories that involved Mrs. Schaefer (Teddy Hurrell at the bus stop is one!). I can hear your Mom's great giggle and she was so strong to be on her own for 34 years carrying the family legacy. I recently left a message for your Mom and should have told her sooner what she meant to me. Much love to you all during this sorrowful time.
Growing up as a hockey sister, Mrs. Schaefer was always so kind to me and always took the time to talk. She was the kind of hockey Mom who never missed a game, always there cheering with her green Byron jacket on!! Her huge smile was contagious and always made me feel welcomed. Right up until this month, my Mom and Mrs. Schaefer spent hours (and I mean hours) on the phone chatting. She was so very proud of her 3 children and all her grandchildren!!! RIP, I know you are reunited with Mr. Schaefer 🫶🏼 and that makes my heart happy. Sincere condolences to Todd, Kelly, Allison and families.
