Marie Jacqueline Richard (Savidant)

Marie, a loving mother and friend to all whose lives she touched, passed peacefully surrounded by family on October 18, 2020. Born the youngest child to Vincent Daniel and Mary Anne (Bernard) Savidant on April 29, 1934 in Summerside, PEI, Marie married her teen love, the late Joseph Richard “Rick” at an early age. They raised their family around Ontario and Germany as Rick served his country. She was predeceased by her siblings: Laura, Vincent, Frank, Gertrude, Vernon, Jimmy, Florence, Doris, Maude and Leonard. Marie’s strength, love and sense of humour will be missed by her three sons: Joe, Barry (Sue Johnson) and Glenn (the late Michelle Sheridan); her grandchildren: Jason, Todd, Pauline and Madison; and her great -grandson Hunter. Marie will also be dearly missed by her sister Theresa (Keith) Aldridge of Hanover and her longtime devoted friends Bud and Emily Jardine. She has missed her friends from Grand Bend, Bingo at the Legion and getting to concerts at The Bud to catch her favourite country stars with her niece Lisa.
Thank-you to the essential workers at Horizon Retirement Place and ICU at University Hospital for the exceptional care provided to Marie.

John and I send our condolences to Aunt Marie's family. She will be missed. I remember her great sense of humour. I was the flower girl at their wedding almost 67 years ago. They got married on my 5th birthday, Feb. 25th 1954. Sending love and prayers.
