Marilyn R. (Lynne) Allen
August 12, 2017
It is with broken hearts that we share the news of Mom’s passing at her home at peopleCare Oakcrossing, London, on Saturday, August 12, 2017 in her 88th year. Lovingly surrounded by her daughter Tracey, son-in-law Vince Dunleavy and beloved grand puppy Stewy (the apple of her eye), Mom peacefully passed away listening to the music of her love ‘Eddie’ whom she missed so much (Edward G. Allen, July 2003). After a long and hard fought battle with Alzheimer’s, Mom was finally reunited with Dad after 14 long years apart. Predeceased by her mother, Jean (Ruckle) Bates Van Patter; her father, Fern Bates; and her stepfather, George Van Patter. As per Mom’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Private interment of ashes will take place at a later date. We wish to extend a special thank you to Robin and her team from Prince George Retirement Home, in Lucan, who helped us through a seemingly impossible part of Mom’s journey and to the amazing staff at peopleCare Oakcrossing – especially the staff from ‘White Pine’: the care, compassion, and love you gave Mom were unsurpassed and will never be forgotten. You all have a very special place in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society or the London Humane Society will be gratefully acknowledged.
May you now reclaim all your cherished
memories, Mom, as we will cherish
our memories of you.
