Marion E. (née Smith) Inculet

April 7, 2019

eacefully, in London, on Sunday April 7, 2019, Marion E. Inculet passed away in her 93rd year. Loving wife (sixty years) of the late Ion Inculet, dear mother of Richard (Nancy), the late Catherine, and Diana (Dave Simpson), and cherished Grandma of Clayton (Kim Thompson), Garrett, Alexandra, Ariana, Elena and Corina. Marion was born in Ottawa and attended McGill University where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in 1947 and her Bachelor of Library Science in 1948. Marion’s love of books remained with her always. Her focus was on making a warm home for her family. She loved to cook and bake and host family at holiday gatherings (over 50 Christmas turkeys). The chocolate chip cookie tin was always full, the cake of the week was always on the counter, and freshly baked bread was readily available. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewing, with the gift of her annual Christmas craft, hand-made socks and cozy flannel pyjamas a treasure for her family. She was an avid bridge player in the neighbourhood and faculty clubs, and enjoyed a long running daily scrabble game. Marion travelled the world with Ion and together they created and enjoyed a special family cottage on the shores of Georgian Bay. She will be forever remembered for her love and devotion to family.

A special thanks to all those involved in her care. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Those wishing to make a donation may consider the Alzheimer Foundation London and Middlesex.
