Marion Elizabeth Langdown
June 22, 2014
It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of our precious mother, Marion Langdown, on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital. She was never recognized with a special award, or never had a fancy job title, but she was the best ‘stay at home Mom’ that you could want in this world! She was born 95 years ago in Zenda, Ontario, the youngest daughter of the late George and Lillian Hammond. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, William J. Langdown (1995), her twin sister, Mabel Hunter (1994), her older sister, Ruth Hammond (1996), and her daughter-in-law, Linda Langdown (1999). Left with cherished memories are her sons Bill (Sheila) of Cambridge, Rick (Marg) of Forest, and her daughter Mary Lou Munro (Wayne) of Ajax, as well as her grandchildren Sarah Langdown (David Cyr), Abby (Josh) Langdown-Masse, Trevor Munro, and Lindsay (Colin) Willoner, and her great grandchildren Connor, Natalie, and Marla Brown, Dylan and Dominick Masse, Matthew and Charlotte Cyr and Jola Willoner. Her wonderful sense of humour, and her warm, strong hugs will always be remembered by those who knew and loved her. Family and friends are invited to share their memories of Marion with her family during visitation at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Thursday, June 26, 2014 from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. The funeral service in celebration of Marion’s life will be conducted following the visitation at 2:30 p.m. Interment at Woodland Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice, in Marion’s memory. Special thanks to all the staff at Sprucedale Care Centre, Strathroy, for their support and loving care over the last three years, and the I.C.U. Staff at Strathroy Hospital.
