Mary Lou Howe
May 11, 2022
With deep sadness, the family of Mary Lou Howe announces the passing of their dear mother, in her 95th year, as she finally joins her beloved husband Jack, the love of her life. She is now also reunited with her parents Frank and Teresa Doyle and her nine siblings and brother-in-law. Mary Lou was the loving mother of Patrick (Lee), Mary Lynne (Barry Onslow), Michael (Adrienne), and Jane (Greg MacMaster). She was the proud grandmother of Kiera, Brendan, Julia, Colin and Katie and great-grandmother of Lucas and Lily. She is survived by sister-in-law Barbara Tuck, and many nieces and nephews.
Mary Lou and Jack had a wonderful life together, married for 68 years and devoted to each other. They travelled far and wide, enjoyed golf, winters in Florida, bridge and each other’s company. They hosted many gatherings for both family and friends in their home, occasions filled with happiness and laughter.
Born in 1927 on a farm in Chatham, Ontario, Mary Lou met Jack when she was a student at London Teacher’s College and he was a soldier training in London during World War II. She taught in Chatham, married Jack and they began their family in Chatham, later moving to London where they both taught for the Catholic School Board. They were a founding family of St. John the Divine Catholic Parish. Mary Lou left teaching, pursued a university degree and worked many years as Office Manager at Norquay Homes. After retirement she was an avid pastel artist and golfer. She had a wicked sense of humour and an easy smile that will not easily be forgotten.
Special thanks to Juliana Bennett, Gail Duplessis and the staff at Highview Chapin house who took loving care of Mary Lou throughout the eight years that she lived there.
A funeral service will be conducted at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 1:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. Interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery, London. Donations in memory of Mary Lou may be made to the McCormick Care Foundation – Dementia Services Priority Needs.

My condolences to Pat, Brendan, and family on the loss of your mother and grandmother. and great-grandmother. My thoughts are with you. David.
Mary, I am sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I met her when she and your dad played together at the bridge club. She was so friendly and so much fun, and although our meeting was brief, our conversation has not been forgotten. She asked me how I spelled my name, which is exactly the spelling you were given...Mary Lynne with an "e". She really liked that. The similarity didn't end there--my parents' names were Mary and Jack. We could have happily talked for ever if we weren't playing bridge. lol I wanted to share a snippet of my delightful encounter with your Mom. I know that she and your Dad are happily back together again. I wish you peace of mind in your grief knowing this. Warmest regards, Mary Lynne (Moore) Hooey
To the family: Sorry to hear of your loss. I remember your Mom's quick wit and great sense of humor. I also remember your Dad getting grapes from the farm to make wine- the vines are still there. May she rest in peace.
