Mary Lynn Mansell

August 4, 2022

Passed away at home on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at the age of 75. She was surrounded by her husband, children and grandchildren. Mary Lynn was the beloved wife of Paul Mansell for fifty-four years and the much-adored mother of Jennifer Davies (Jim), Kim Lamport (Jerry) and Sara Gallien (Al). She was a very involved and extremely proud grandmother to Nigel and Tiernan Davies and Mya and Oliver Lamport. She is also survived by her four siblings, Margaret Selassie, Jean Clement, Gordon Turner and Jim Turner, and their families. Mary Lynn faced significant health challenges for many years with a positive attitude and dignity that inspired many. Mary Lynn was a graduate of Huron College in 1968, followed by teachers college at Western University. She had a keen mind, an incredible memory and a facility with language that led to her involvement in the Jane Austen Society and her love of difficult word puzzles. She was a member of First Saint Andrew’s United Church, Riverside United and the May Court Club of London. She was generous with her time, and her hospitality was extended to her family and large circle of friends. Mary Lynn made many happy memories at the cottage in Grand Bend and with a wonderful group of friends in Hilton Head, S.C. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the dedicated healthcare professionals who cared for Mary Lynn over the course of her many years dealing with the effects of rheumatoid arthritis and her recent illness. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where a funeral service will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Mary Lynn may choose to give to the London Food Bank, the May Court Club of London or a charity of their choosing.

We were so sad to learn about Mary Lynn's passing. It has left a hole in our hearts as well. Our paths first crossed more than 30 years ago through May Court Club of London and then as nearby neighbours. She has left a legacy of resilience and optimism regardless of life's situations. A very brave, giving and loving woman to family and many friends. She will be missed. Sending hugs and love to all the Mansell clan.
