Maureen Ann Forrester

March 26, 2021

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Maureen, at Victoria Hospital, London, on Friday, March 26, 2021, with her loving husband, John by her side. She was much loved and will be greatly missed by her daughter, Kate, and her grandchildren: Trent, Tyler, James, and Emily. Maureen was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. She came to Canada on a ship in 1967 to begin a new adventure. It was in London, Ontario, that Maureen met and married John, her loving husband of 53 years. Maureen found great joy and success as a realtor, selling homes in Mississauga and London. Her latest role was that of dedicated Condo Board Member and Social Director in the complex, in which she lived. Maureen planned events to bring her neighbours together to celebrate Canada Day and other holidays, including arranging for Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners to be delivered door-to-door during COVID-19. Maureen enjoyed cruising with Crystal Cruise Lines, dancing at Chicken Rita’s in Barbados, playing Bridge, and spending time with her dear friends and family. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. Maureen is now with her son, Adam, who passed away on Sunday, October 20, 1996. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and her many friends. As per Maureen’s wishes, there will be a private family service and burial at Woodland Cemetery. The family welcomes friends to view the private service via livestream.

Our Hunt Club community will truly miss, Maureen, a dynamo who will be hard to replace, not only because of her warm and lovely nature, but her willingness to step in and get things done. A true gem! Rest in peace, and deepest sympathies to John and family.

Maureen made a wonderful difference in the planning of our Zed group Condo. We were living in Amsterdam in the Netherlands and purchased this home to be built before we came home to Canada. Maureen was delightful to work with and helped us make changes in the basic floor plan to suit our lifestyle, long distance. Emails were many and the whole process worked well. Her warm and wonderful sense of humour and genuine interest in helping will be remembered. We've lived here at 681 Commissioners Rd for over 21 years and love it. Thank you, Maureen, for the help you gave us and others. We pray that your family will be comforted by wonderful memories of your times together. Joan and Alan

It has saddened me to learn of Maureen's passing. We were neighbours when our son's were born and into toddlerhood. We shared many happy memories on our small Leicester Crescent in London . I shared John and Maureen's grief when we both lost babies and then when Adam passed away at a young age. Maureen also came to my mind then again when I also lost my son, Jeff in 2020. Jeff and Adam were friends for the years the Forresters lived in London and we all shared wonderful family and neighbour times. John, my thoughts are with you and your family as this most sad time. Hugs, Genny Grech
