Michael Edward Keegan

April 6, 2026

Michael Edward Keegan passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026, at the age of 75 years. Michael is survived by his wife, best friend and confidant, Marilyn Grigg. Predeceased by his parents, Edward Keegan, 1965 and Marnie Keegan, 2006. Besides his wife, Michael is survived by his daughter Lisa Keegan-Drennan (Abe), son Jeffrey Keegan (Alexandra), six grandchildren, Mali, River, Aria, Quinn, Naomi and Remy, and sister Lezlie Keegan of Greenwood, Indiana.

Michael was born in Port Hope, Ontario and grew up predominantly in London. He served several years with the reserve unit of the RCR before joining the RCMP. During his 37 years with the RCMP, Michael saw service in Manitoba and Ontario, as well as being stationed in Jordan while working as an instructor at the Jordan International Police Training Center. Upon his retirement, Michael became an amateur genealogist, tracing his family history as far back as 1150 in Ireland. During his research, he uncovered a long-kept family secret that led to the discovery of maternal grandparents who had been previously unknown due to an early family adoption.

Michael lived a life of integrity and loved family more than anything. Spending time at the cottage in the summer with family was his greatest pleasure.

For those wishing to celebrate Michael’s memory, a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at FireRock Golf Club, 10345 Oxbow Drive, Komoka, from 2:00 -4:00 p.m.

Our deepest condolences to Marilyn, Lisa, Jeff, Lezlie and families. While geography kept us from spending more time together, the times Mike and I did share together were always enlightening and full of laughter. Mike was a man with a kind heart and consistently put others before himself. I will always remember our time together starting from our cross-Canada train trip together in our early teens to the last time we saw each other in Calgary. Rest in Peace Mike, you will be sorely missed.

I was truly saddened to hear of Mike's passing. Mike was in our wedding party on July 5, 1975 in Fisher Branch , Manitoba while he was stationed in Arborg Manitoba. We have fond memories of Mike while stationed with him in Gillam, Manitoba. Although we have not kept in touch much over the years those times that we did were very enjoyable reminiscing of our earlier days in training and work we did in Gillam. Our condolences go out to Marilyn and your entire family. Mike and your entire family will be in our daily thoughts and prayers. Emma & Tom Forbes Stonewall, Manitoba

I have known Mike since 1978. We were stationed with him in Gilliam. Manitoba. As we moved form Gilliam. We went to Winnipeg and Mike and family went to portage la prairie. They were instrumental in our lives as we navigated thru our young family. Mike was always so pleasant. Walked with a stride. Talll and handsome. Loved outdoors. His dogs at the time. We continued our friendship in London. But did lose contact. Made connection a couple of years ago. So proud of his family. And grand kids. Rest in peace Mike. Another one gone too soon.

It is with great sadness that we learned of Mike’s passing. Unfortunately we will not be able to attend the service, as we will be in Ottawa tending to Lynn’s sick mother. We keep great memories of our working relationship with Mike. Please accept our most sincere condolences.

So sorry to hear of the loss of cousin Michael. I always wished that I had known him better, but we grew up in Montreal and he always seemed to so far away. I do have a very lovely photo of me, sitting on his lap. I was probably 2 years old and he looked like he had no idea what to do with me. I thought it was very sweet. I enjoyed keeping in touch with him, these past few years. My condolences to Marilyn and all of Mike's friends and family. - Miriam
