Thanksgiving w/end 2014, I learned of Mike's Passing. I had the pleasure of many chats at the WO's & Sgt's Mess over 26 yrs with Mike. He was a very respected man who marvelled in a fight to right what he believed was an injustice, be it during his CF career or during his tenure as Sr rep for the Mess Associate Members. In centuries past, he could have been a valiant Clan Chieftain, enjoying the loyalty of his many Clansmen. Villagers would speak of him to their children with inspiration, stories of great adventures knowing fairness, tolerance, and strength of honour would rule the land. May my thoughts of condolence find its way to Mike's family. We have all lost a great friend who's name will see many toasts whether it be among men or in a private gesture of solemn reflection.

Mike was my CSM when I commanded Charles Company. His skill, professionalism, and subtle guidance (and sometimes not so subtle) made our time together very enjoyable. Lots of good memories. Pro Patria Mike.
