Muriel Gene Davis

January 28, 2020

Peacefully at home, on Tuesday, January 28th, 2020 in her 96th year; now safe in the arms of Jesus. Daughter of the late Ernest James Davis and Edith “Marian” (née Steven) Davis. Muriel will be greatly missed by beloved sister, Janet Davis. Predeceased by sisters, Marie (late Ernest) Martin and Elaine Griffiths (David). Dear aunt (a.k.a. “Aunty Moo”) of: Linda & Jim Finn, Donald & Gloria Martin, Ruth & Steve Maude, Doug & Sue Martin, Allan & Leslie Griffiths, Mark & Susan Griffiths and Jonathan & Bel Griffiths. Great-aunt to 11 nephews and 3 nieces. She will also be missed by countless other relatives and friends. Born of missionary parents on July 25, 1924 in Henan province, China, Muriel went on to be a missionary herself; as well as a nurse and a teacher in Jamaica for close to 30 years. She will be remembered for her gentle heart and quick wit. Sincere thanks to the amazing staff at Amica London and to the kind and generous staff at McCormick Day Program for their care of Muriel over the past decade. A funeral service will be conducted at STONEY CREEK BAPTIST CHURCH, 2225 Highbury Avenue North, London, on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Muriel are asked to consider the McCormick Care Foundation – McCormick Dementia Services or Stoney Creek Baptist Church, London.

Lynn, I'm so sorry for you loss. I'm sure you will miss your visits with her and feel that loss in your life.

The Fairview Baptist Bible College and High School Family praise the Lord for the life of this great lady who spent some three decades in Jamaica as a missionary. Many of us (including myself) were taught by her and can remember how powerful she was in impacting our lives. Today we serve the Lord because foundational missionaries like Ms. Muriel Davis. She was an exceptional thinker of Theology and a great writer of doctrinal truths. Nobody told an object lesson like her. The Lord has taken her home and we are confident of a Jamaican reunion with her in heaven. Enjoy your new home Ms. Davis until we join you again.
