Mushtaq Masih ‘Mike’ Mall

November 2, 1934 - February 17, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Mushtaq Masih Mall ‘Mike’, in his 86th year (Nov. 2, 1934 – Feb. 17, 2022).  Our Dad fought a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s for several years, and spent the last 20 months in Complex Care at Parkwood Institute.  Mushtaq was married to the love of his life, the late Mrs. Rafiqa Masih (2017), for 57 years.  He leaves behind his four children: Caroline (Darshan), Noreen (Mark), Simmy (Jaswant), and Samuel (Renuka); and six grandchildren: Madison, Jasmine, Ela, Neil, Erika, and Rebecca. He was a dear brother to the late Razaaq (Rosaline), the late Mumtaz (Irene), and Imtiaz (Prabha).  Mushtaq will be sadly missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews, family, and friends near and far.

In 1974, Mushtaq and Rafiqa arrived in St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada, with hopes and dreams of a better life.  Their dream came to fruition for them and their four children.  Mushtaq had a deep-rooted love for Canada and had tremendous gratitude for the opportunities that Canada provided up until his final days.  We would like to express our sincere ‘thank you’ to the entire staff of the 3AE floor at Parkwood Institute for the excellent care and compassion they showed to our Dad.  A very special ‘thank you’ to Ms. Judy Beitz who made regular communication possible with our Dad during all of the COVID restrictions.  Visitation will be held on Monday, February 21, 2022 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where a funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.  Proof of double vaccination will be required to attend the visitation and service. A livestream will be available for those wishing to view the service remotely.

To register for the livestream, please click here: Mushtaq’s livestreamed funeral service on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.

Interment at Elmdale Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the McCormick Day Program or Parkinson Canada.

Please accept my sincere condolences. Mike was such a gentle soul. Mike and his brother, Mumtaz (also a gentle soul) would always stop to say hello/goodbye when they saw me. They would never miss an opportunity to say thank you for the opportunity to be a part of the program. It was a gift to have known Mike. It is my hope that each of you will find peace in your memories. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
