Myra Patricia (née Duke) Remkes

December 2, 2020

Passed away at Chelsey Park LTC Home in London, on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at the age of 78. Dearly missed by her husband, John Remkes, of London. Survived by her daughter Deirdre Puchala (Curran), son-in-law Mitch; grandchildren Samantha and Aaron; sisters Margaret Trainor (Eric) and Elizabeth Coveney (John); and 11 nieces and nephews. Myra was born April 25, 1942 in Dublin, Ireland and moved to Canada in 1967, where she first settled in Stratford, Ontario. She received her teaching certification at Althouse College in London, then served as a teacher with the London District Catholic School Board where she was rewarded by serving special needs students for many years. Myra retired in 1998 and enjoyed many years of travel with her husband and best friend John. Our sincere appreciation to the many staff and volunteers at Chelsey Park LTC Home, who made a home for Myra over the past 10 months. Cremation has taken place. A private service will be held at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London and a Celebration of Life will take place in the near future. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Myra are asked to consider the Alzheimer Society London and Middlesex.

My condolences to all her family! I was her Home Instead worker and was lucky enough to have a little time with her and she was dear to my heart. She was vibrant, lovely, appreciative, and caring. My heart goes out to Mr. Remkes and her whole family! What a strong, lovely lady! Hugs to you all! She lives in all of you, may the memories bring you comfort during these difficult days! 💜
