Neil David Harris
April 1, 2020
Passed peacefully at Victoria Hospital, on Wednesday, April 1, 2020, in his 73rd year. Loving husband of Christine. Much loved father of Jeff and his wife Julie Harris, Colleen Harris and her husband Chris Boucher, and Jon Harris and his wife Julia Hall. Cherished Papa to Sophia and Luca Harris, Ben and Chloe Boucher, and Ella and Olivia Harris. Dear brother of Lynn Tyhurst and her husband Tom and brother-in-law of Rick Magier and his wife Gloria. Also missed by his nieces and nephews: Andrew (Angie) Tyhurst, Genny Tyhurst, Megan (Brad) Gawley, Michael, Chad (Melanie) and Andrea Magier. Neil was an elementary school teacher for 33 years in Chatham-Kent. He was passionate about learning to build things such as stained glass or handy with his hands around the house. He loved to sing! You would often hear him singing in the church choir at St. Ursula Parish in Chatham or in Port Stanley. He was patient and kind and a devoted Husband, Father and Papa. Always willing to listen and chat with you about anything. His company, friendship and devotion to his family will be forever missed. A private memorial ceremony will take place and a Celebration of Life will be planned in the future. Those wishing to donate in memory of Neil are asked to consider giving to London Health Sciences Foundation at www.lhsf.ca or cheques can be mailed to Rock Steady Boxing, 1180 Quinton Rd, London ON, N6H 4R1.

Dear Chris and family, I was so very sorry to hear of Neil's passing. I taught at TAPS from 1978 to 1982 and had the privilege of sharing some classes with Neil. He was a great colleague and a wonderful teacher. The kids really liked him. He spoke often of you Chris and the children. It was obvious you were very important to him. Also, you lived next door to my cousins Bob and Lenore and they so enjoyed you being their neighbours. Once again, please accept my sincere sympathy. Beth Olsen
What a great man he was, we have many great memories of him at your wonderful family gatherings. It was always a delight to chat with him, he listened so well and was surrounded by an amazing loving family! We were so grateful to know him. Our sincere condolences go out to the entire Family!
