Peacefully on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, Nickolai Rutkevich of London, at the age of 77. Beloved husband of the late Galina Rutkevich. Loving father of Alex Rutkevich (Anastasia), Luda Toopitsin (Boris), Inessa Litostanski (Victor), Lilia Hodges (Jamal) and Elena Rutkevich. Adored grandfather of Jenny Toopitsin, Carlos Toopitsin (Karolina), Liana Musiyevich (Dan), Emily Rutkevich, David Markovich, Danny Toopitsin, Donna Litostanski, David Litostanski, Leah Litostanski, Adrian Kisel, Liam Kisel, Ayva Hodges, Grey Hodges, and great-grandfather of one. Missed by his brother Victor Rutkevich (Stacy). A funeral service will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 10:30 a.m., with visitation one hour prior.

A great part of our youth and our early memories is gone! Thank you uncle Kolia for being a great host so many of times we visited your family in Latvia! We always looked forward to visiting and always waited eagerly for you and your family visits! Your pain is gone and your purpose has been fulfilled on this earth! Enjoy the many new adventures in our Heavenly Fathers dwellings! God grant peace and comfort to my many cousins and their children during this time of mourning!
Our uncle Kolia, how all of us cousins called him, have left a profound impact on all of us. Growing up, I remember diadia Kolia visiting us in Molodechno. The highlights of my childhood were visiting most hospitable and welcoming place that was our uncles home. I remember his help and kindness when I first came to Canada. My deep condolences to the cousins and their families. May you find comfort in the presence of our Heavenly Father. Know that your father is in the presence of his Lord and Savior.
