Passed away peacefully after her battle with cancer, on September 14, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

Nidia was the daughter of Juan Francisco Juarez Moralez and Ceferina Carmen Gutierrez de Juarez.  She was born on November 15, 1952 in Managua, Nicaragua, the fifth of seven children.  Nidia is survived by her devoted children: Maria Martinez-Harild (Braad), Nidia Martinez (Devon), Jose Martinez (Alicia) and her beloved granddaughter Valentina Harild.  She will be lovingly remembered by her extended family and many friends.  

Nidia worked tirelessly as both a PSW and DSW, vocations to which she was extremely devoted.  Nidia’s devotion to her work was surpassed only by her love of her family.  She was well-known and loved within the St. Francis – St. Martin Catholic Church community where she took part in prayer groups and volunteered her time assisting with church activities and celebrations.  Nidia’s family wish to extend their sincere thanks to the numerous friends who came to visit Nidia as well as the staff at LHN, Victoria Hospital and Parkwood Hospital for their care and compassion.

Visitation will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, on Tuesday from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. FRANCIS-ST. MARTIN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 46 Cathcart Street, on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.  Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Nidia are asked to consider the London Regional Cancer Program.

Desde conocí a Nidia, mi amigocha, conocí a un ser bondadoso, con un gran Carisma de Fe, de alma pura y misionera. Nidia siempre donó su tiempo y recursos a los más necesitados, sin impórtales quienes eran los que recibían su amor y dedicación. Su vida fue un legado de Fe y Testimonio que aún durante en momentos dificiles ella mantuvo su sonrisa y ternura. Nidia siempre extendió sus manos a los más necesitados y en especial a los que necesitaban aliento y oración. El major legado que Nidia nos ha dejado,a sus "amigochas " ha sido ver su valor ante su lucha contra el Cancer, aún en dolor siempre mantuvo su gran fe y nos consoló en nuestro dolor al verla luchar día a día en su jornada final. Nidia para muchos fue ese ángel que nos protejia en todo momento, pobres de corazón para aquellos que la dañaron y que en su ceguera material no pudieron obtener su perdón, que el Señor los ayude. Hoy ya esta en su última morada gozando de la Gloria eterna. Amigocha Nidia siempre vivirás en mi corazón y cada vez que vea una estrella luminosa en el cielo sabré que eres tú cuidándome .
