Norma Marguerite Baskett (née Gregg)

On Saturday, December 3, 2016, Norma passed away peacefully at her home with her beloved husband, Ivan, of 74 years, by her side. Dear mother of Brian and Anne. Cherished grandmother of John (Julie Anne), Eric (Shirlyn), Heather (Stephan), Kurt and Brad (Melissa). Great-grandmother of Johanna, Jillian, Ethan and Aubrey. Remembered by many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Archie and Millie Gregg and by her sister Gene (Geordie) Connor. “Adopted” Grandma to many. Formerly of Salford, Norma was a member of Colborne/Empress United Church and Woodstock Eastern Star. Over her 96 years, she made many friendships as an active square dancer and civil servant. A heartfelt “thank you” to the many individuals involved in Norma’s well-being over the past few years. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 3:00 – 5:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London where the funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, December 7^th, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., with Reverend David Carrothers officiating. Donations in Norma’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to another charity of your preference.

We are so very sorry to read about Norma's passing. Thank you for the card and for letting us know. Imagine being married for 74 years. That says a lot for both of you Ivan. Together you were a such an admirable couple. Always keeping in touch with my dad and visiting him when he was so ill. Reading about Norma's death brought mom and I to tears and I'm sorry we didn't know until now. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Norma will be greatly missed.
