Oreste Vian

June 3, 1935 - May 19, 2026

After saying goodbye to his loved ones, Oreste passed away peacefully at Amica London, on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at the age of 90 (just short of his 91st birthday). Beloved husband of Armida Vian (née Gasparini) for 66 years. Loving father of Cathy Fraccaro (Mario) and Steve Vian (Jackie). Adored Nonno of Mara Fraccaro, Mark Fraccaro (Amanda), Luke Fraccaro (Marina), Gillian Vian (Jacob), and Kaitlyn Vian. Survived by his siblings Angelina (the late Martino), Luigina (the late Roger), Lina (Dino), Silvio (Marilyn), and Bruno. Predeceased by his father Giacomo, mother Maria (née Berti), and brother Luciano (Giuseppina).

Oreste was a hardworking and humble house painter, who loved the simple things in life. He enjoyed playing cards with his brothers and friends, tending to his vegetable garden, playing bocce, making homemade wine and sausages, birdwatching, going for neighbourhood walks with Armida, and watching soccer (forza Juventus!) and the Blue Jays.

Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at Westview Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Sunday, May 31, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. A reception will follow.

Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Oreste are asked to consider the Canadian Cancer Society or CAMH.
