Dear Pat, It was difficult even trying to imagine you leaving us, but I witnessed your last breath. Your brave very young great grand nieces and nephew Ashley, Tait, Claire and Sarah Rose stood like little soldiers by your bedside as you trickled down your last few tears. Pat, you will always be in my heart in a such a special way. You have been the best sister in law and friend that anyone could ever have since the first time I met you dancing with Melvin at the 7 Dwarfs. You and Mel offered Richard your car to take me there. What a kind, happy, personal gal, and what a dresser! I am so very thankful for a deep faith to help me through such a grave loss, and be thankful that you are now free of pain and at peace. Pat, you had a wealth of friends in this world, so is there any wonder why we titled your picture, "Loved by all." Sincerest love, Rosemary Edgeworth
Hi Aunt Pat, I wanted to thank you for the loving impact you and Uncle Mel have had on my sister Patti and I. You and Uncle Mel always put family first. We will never forget sleepovers at your home and trips from Georgina the Fairy who left little treasures by the bedside in an egg shaped container. Weekend trips to a hotel with a picnic supper and swim were always fun. You found jobs for Patti and I in the flower shop where you worked. My first job was the best in your store at the News Depot where I washed dishes at the age of 7. Most of all, we will remember how you made time to be with us all no matter how busy you both were.
Pat was a marvellous neighbour here at 110 Cherryhill. Whenever our paths crossed (our cars were parked near one another) I was rewarded by the loveliest of smiles and a heartfelt inquiry as to my well being as well as that of my folks. My dad was "the Coke man" and from Strathroy so was always fondly remembered by Pat. Her smile really light up my day. It will be missed and so will you.
Aunt Pat was truly a model of hospitality and friendship. Her presence could light up the room. When we would talk she was genuinely interested in our family, what our children were studying in school, how our professions were developing. We will honor her memory by following her example to be present to others and listen better. With love from the Mohan family.
Auntie Pat, I will miss our mail correspondence. I carry with me my favourite memories of sleepovers at your and Uncle Melvin's house!! God Bless xoxo
Aunt Pat, I miss you so much!!!! Patti
I really miss the many conversations I used to have with Pat. She was always interested in talking to me about my teaching career and got me a job at the floral shop in Cherryhill Mall when I was supply teaching. She introduced me to her nieces Patti and Richelle. I will always remember Pat for her smile and overall good nature. She was so friendly and loved to talk about different current events.
We have many happy and loving memories of Pat. Thank you for being our friend for many, many years. We are richer because of your friendship. We are making a monetary donation to the Strathroy Salvation Army Food Bank in Pat's honour. Bruce and Yvonne Lambert Strathroy
