Condolences to dear Betsy, Rod and Carrie. Paul was a really good friend. Although we didn't see each other often, there was never any need to introduce ourselves upon the occasions when we did meet. Our family's mutual admiration of the outdoors, and loving and living it, was one of the bonds of friendship which we shared over the years. The prospecting and geological escapades that Paul and my husband Don (who passed away last December) shared were pretty exciting in the doing, and fascinating in the telling! I had the pleasure of running into Paul at the opening of the museum at the Watt farm in July. He shared some of his memories of the farm when our grandfather was alive. Sorry to hear of his passing.

The news of the passing of my friend and partner in mineral exploration was both sad and pleasantly nostalgic. I met Paul a long time ago in a Brokerage Office in North Bay where investors , speculators and the mineral exploration community , mainly geologists , met to view the gyration of mining stocks and otherwise acquire information on mineral discoveries . We became friends . We worked jointly on some of Paul's mineral prospects , mainly gold , from time to time as well as on some prospects I worked on for clients and on which Paul provided his gold exploration expertise . The highlight of our professional relationship was the staking of a graphite prospect a long time ago which is owned equally by Paul , myself and another deceased geologist. This prospect is currently being prepared for production. We each share an advance royalty interest in this prospect which is ongoing. Paul and I often expressed wonder and glee at the good fortune of receiving a biannual advance royalty continuously after many years , a rarity in mineral exploration. I will remember Paul with pride and the good fortune we shared in mineral exploration. My sincere condolences to Paul's family . May they be comforted by the many professional accomplishments credited to Paul over the years. Adieu Paul . I first met Paul McLean when he came into the Sudbury Mining Recorder's Office in the late 1970's. He had a real passion for prospecting and mining and would often share his stories of exploration with me. I enjoyed serving him as a Mining Recorder and looked forward to his visits and the beautiful roses from his garden that would brighten the office. He was a fine gentleman and soon became a very good friend. I will miss him dearly. My sincere condolences to Betsy, Rod and Carrie who I have had the privilege of meeting. May the wonderful memories you have of your father help you through the days ahead.

I have great memories of the McLean family and their casual generosity, sharing times at home, the arena and the cottage. Betsy, I especially am thinking of you and hoping you are having a fulfilling time and moving on while celebrating the life of your dad and mourning his death.
