Paul Douglass

July 25, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Paul Wayne Douglass on Friday, July 25, 2025, at the age of 78, after a battle with cancer.

Paul will be deeply missed by his wife of 20 years, Kathleen (née Webb), and his children, Paul “JR” (Soni), Heather (Michael), and Jeff (Jeanine).  Beloved grandfather of Ty, Megan, James, Luke, Makayla, Gavin and Aubree. Dear brother of Louise (Mark) and brother-in-law of Ellwood (Marie), and Jeannie (Dave). Paul will be missed by many extended family members and friends. Paul was predeceased by his parents and his wife, Joan.

Originally from Chicago, Paul made London his home for over 50 years and spent his career working in the office furniture industry. After retirement, he enjoyed travelling through parts of Canada and the U.S. with Kathleen, and even managed to skip a few Canadian winters by staying in Florida.  The Kawartha Lakes region was his favourite place to be in the summer, either at Elim Lodge or at the cottage where he would spend hours fishing, gardening and protecting his bird feeder.  His family and friends have many memorable and funny stories of spending quality time with him there. Paul lived a life marked by deep faith, quiet generosity and firm trust in the Lord. He used his time and energy to help others in whatever way he could. Whether it was volunteering at church, at the Mission Thrift Store, or helping a friend in need, Paul was someone you could always count on.

A family graveside service has been held at Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Elim Lodge.
