Paul Francis (PFS) Schooley

July 1, 2020

With great sadness, we announce the death of Paul Schooley, on July 1st, 2020, in his 82nd year. He passed away peacefully at University Hospital, where he received the ‘gift of life’ as a heart transplant recipient 22 years ago. Born in Stratford, Ontario, he was the son of Basil and the late Florence Schooley. Loving husband and best friend of Shirley (McPherson) for almost 60 years. Loving father to Nancy Hewitt (Schooley) of Burlington and Doug Schooley (Gina) of Texas. A special Grandpa to Tyler Hewitt, Alexandra and Austin Schooley. Survived by his sister, Barb McKinnon and sister-in-law, Phyllis Schooley. A favourite uncle to many nieces and nephews. Also predeceased by his brother, Vincent and brother-in-law, Jack McKinnon. Paul enjoyed a full life and touched everyone he met with a big smile, humour and thoughtfulness. He devoted 55 years to transportation with the CNR and SLH. Paul was a big sports fan and played hockey, baseball, golf and curling.  He and Shirley also enjoyed travelling.

A Celebration of Life will be held when Paul’s son Doug can travel to Canada.

Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Paul are asked to consider the LHSC – Multi-Organ Transplant Program.
