Paul Martin

April 26, 2026

It is with profound sadness that the family of Paul (“Marty”) Martin shares the news of his passing on Sunday, April 26, 2026. After a long and hard-fought battle with cancer, Paul slipped away at Mount Sinai Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Paul joins his beloved mother, Catherine (“Winnie”) Martin-Auksi.

Cherished husband to Jodi Martin and loving father to Glynis (Curtis), Maggie and Kate and his much-loved four-legged companions Gus, Winnie and Poppy. Paul leaves behind his siblings Gerald (Susie) Martin and Elaine (Paul) Mansfield, stepfather Peter Auksi, as well as his adored nieces and nephews, Sam, Ben, Peri, Claire, Jacob and Emily.

Paul served as a member of the London Police Service for over 30 years. Retired in 2017, Paul often shared fond memories of his LPS brothers and sisters and the many laughs with his colleagues in 2 Section.

Paul’s life will be celebrated and honoured in the Chapel, on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., at Westview Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 709 Wonderland Road North, London. The family welcomes you to join them for light refreshments after the service in the reception area.

In lieu of flowers, Paul hopes you will consider an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness. Soar high Paul.  May you now rest in peace.

To all of Paul's family, I'm sending heartfelt condolences to you. His illness has been a long and difficult journey which he did his very best to manage. You all stood together as a loving and supportive family throughout it all. I wish you all continued love and support for each other amidst such a great loss. I went to elementary school with Paul. It's a long time ago, but I have fond memories of him, especially his laugh and his kindness. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I had the chance to work with Paul and it was always an adventure. His thoughtful pause, reflection and insight was spot on. We shared many good laughs together. We had coffee on the deck many times. I'm sorry he's gone. Just too young. My heart and condolences go out to his family. You'll be missed.

Decades have passed but memories have always been held close to heart. Sadness strikes hard to hear of my first true love passing; far before his time. Rest in peace my dear old (best) friend as you are reunited with your lovely mom “Winnie”. Love and prayers to your family 💕

Heartbroken to hear about Marty. We met through mutual friends in our 20s. Shortly after was helping him with a move. Always a pleasure to get together and have a few laughs. Grateful to have called him a friend. I remember the way he thought about things. Little things like specifically mentioning why he bought the new matte dress shoes over shiny ones at a wedding one time. Made me nod my head and say yes makes sense. Details I hadn’t considered. I treasure those moments and hearing his laugh. My deepest sympathy to Jodi and family for your loss. Just a wonderful guy.

~ Scott MacFarlane

Dearest Jodi and family, My heart is just breaking for all of you at this time. The love that you shared as a family supported your beloved husband and father through his battle and that same love is what will get you through this. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Stop the clocks and cover the mirrors. May the road rise up to meet you Paul. I enjoyed working with you and trying to keep up with your banter of dry wit. Rest now and condolences to all of Paul’s family and friends. Lynne (retired LPS)
