Peter Godson Mitchell

Peter Godson Mitchell, aged 78, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 5, 2026, after a long battle with his health, surrounded by his loving family. Peter was known for his joyful nature, his ability to converse with people from all walks of life, his gift for making others laugh, his strong work ethic, and his love for getting together and partying. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Born in Grenada, he left there for work in England. After several years of employment, he made the move to Canada, where he lived out the rest of his life.  He worked as a labourer all his life; working in telecommunications, driving buses in England, and, where he spent most of his career, at Ford Motor Company (foundry and assembly line).

He is the loving father of Stephen, Carolyn, and Mark Mitchell and daughter-in-law, Cindy Mitchell. Adored grandfather of Jamilah, Javonte, Kathleen, Raquelle, and Mylah Mitchell, and proud great-grandfather of Dakota Mitchell.

Peter was predeceased by his parents, Catherine and Freeman Mitchell, and his siblings Bonaparte, Godfrey, Ruth, Wilma, Agatha, and Bernadine. A funeral service will be held at Westview Funeral Home, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior.
