Peter Robert Seppele

July 3, 2020

Peacefully at Westmount Gardens, on Friday, July 3, 2020. Peter Seppele, of London, passed in his 97th year. Peter was born in Ferndorf/Politzen, Kärnten, Austria. Beloved husband of Juliana Seppele for 68 years. Loving father of two daughters, Ingrid (Mike) Croy and Judy Sullivan (Rick). Adored Papa of Jesse (Lauren), Jasper (Cheryl), Emily, Brooke (Luke) and Arden (Kyle). Dear great-grandfather/Papa of eight: Lucas, Sylvia, London, Desmond, Vienna, Wyatt, Scarlette and Summer. Predeceased by parents, Maria and Peter Seppele. Missed by many cousins and extended family and friends here in London and Austria. Peter was always an avid sportsman, and as a young man he loved to ski, and was an accomplished and well-known soccer goalie in his home province. He enjoyed car racing, and excelled at golf and curling, winning many tournaments and trophies that he dearly loved to display for all to see. Peter was a very talented carpenter and cabinet maker, building many homes and doing renovations; he will always be remembered for his amazing creativity and passion for his craft. Peter served in the Austrian Army in the 1940’s, where he was wounded, captured and made an American prisoner of war for two years in Camp Robinson, Arkansas, USA. After their marriage, Peter, Julie and Ingrid immigrated to Canada in 1956, where Judy was later born. Everyone knew of his never-ending pride and love of his beautiful home country Austria. The family would like to thank the staff at Westmount Gardens for their wonderful care and kindness. Cremation has taken place. The family will have a private gathering at a later date.

Having known Peter and Julie for over 50 years, we shared many laughs together as neighbours years ago, and also at Rancho Luna in Cuba. Please accept our deepest condolences for your loss. He will be missed.

Peter was an avid golf, he was very good but never took it to serious. When I was a teenager my dad took me along to play golf with peter. We always had a good time. I am sure you will all miss peter deeply.
