Dear Joyce and Tracy. There are no words that we know that can express how we feel about the loss of our dear friend, Ray Your move to London brightened our life tremendously. My memory of Ray will always be of his always ready big smile. I worked with him at Spruce Falls in the 1950's, and even during a horrible job on ol' number 2 machine, any joke about the job would bring out that big smile, and lighten the load Rest in peace, Ray, we'll miss you

What a beautiful photo of a wonderful man! Uncle Ray will always be remembered for his big smile and hearty laugh. Rest in Peace Uncle Ray.
Where do I begin.......childhood memories are memories that are never forgotten and the memories that I have of Ray, Joyce and my dear friend Tracy are memories I treasure and look back on fondly. The Donnelly's were my second family, my home away from home growing up, always treating me as one of their own. I cannot ever remember a time when Ray, or Mr. D as I used to call him, did not have a smile on his face, he was such a happy, loving man. I feel blessed to have been part of a very special family and these memories I will hold in my heart forever.
I find it so difficult to put into words the impact that Ray has had on my life and the overwhelming sadness I feel. At times I find my self laughing at the so many Ray stories. He always had one. He could always be counted in to make you laugh. But there was so much more to Ray then just his humour. He took my child by the hand and welcomed us into his heart and his family when we needed it most. The Donnelly's changed me, made me a better person. I have so many memories of having dinner laughing talking and feeling safe and welcomed. Ray you are one of a kind, your light will never go out as the memories and joy you have brought to so many will never been forgotten. The "Ray ism's" will live on. I will miss you.
Joyce, As you know I worked with Ray at Spruce Falls Power and Paper Co. in the paper mill way back in the fifties. I borrowed twenty dollars from him one night when we were at the Plaza Hotel and never paid it back to him. He probably forgot about it—it was late in the evening—but I never did. I will pay it back with interest in the form of a donation to Parkwood Veterans Care program. He was truly a good man, generous with everyone, even pikers.
Dear Aunt Joyce and Tracy, Shari and I are both so sorry for your loss. We too feel an enormous sense of loss. I will always remember Uncle Ray for his big, broad, sincere smile and his wonderful sense of humour. Uncle Ray was in my opinion the stereotypical Donnelly.
To Joyce and family. Our deepest condolences during this difficult time. I didn't know Ray well but remember he was always smiling. Our thoughts and prayers are with you now.

All of my memories of Uncle Ray bring a smile to me. His stories and day to day experiences that he shared invariably had humor in them.
I'll always remember Uncle Ray as a happy man who loved to make people laugh! It's a privilege to have him in so many of my childhood memories.
