Reinaldo “Ray” Matos Figueiredo
May 20, 2025
Reinaldo Matos Figueiredo passed away unexpectedly in London, Ontario on Tuesday, May 20th, 2025 at the age of 71. Known to most friends as Ray, he was known as a handyman, always willing to help others, an active member of his community, a big Toronto Maple Leafs fan, and a devoted grandfather to his two grandchildren. Born in Pena, Portugal on March 8th, 1954, he was the son of Juvenal & Filomena Figueiredo and brother to Joaquim and Manuel. Ray was the beloved husband of his wife Manuela for 45 years, until her passing in 2024. Ray is survived by his sons David and Jason, his daughter-in-law Melissa, his son-in-law Paul, his grandchildren Cohen and Jolee, his brother Joaquim, his nephew Joe, his nieces Linda, Beatriz, and Leslie, and many more. Ray’s final wishes were for a private funeral with immediate family only with a Celebration of Life to be hosted later this year by his sons. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation on Ray’s behalf to either “SickKids Toronto” or “London Health Sciences Foundation (LHSC)“.

Uncle Ray, you were always such a happy person, always a "Ray" of light. You were a welcoming smile and we will miss your infectious laughter. You left us way too soon and there were so many conversations and reminiscing that was left undone. We will miss you so much. Rest in God's peace and in the arms of your Honey, and all the other family members who left too soon.
