Rhonda Marie Warecki
June 14, 1967 - November 19, 2025
At Victoria Hospital on November 19, 2025, after a twelve-month battle with Neuroendocrine Cancer. Beloved daughter of Don and Linda (Morgan) Merritt of Kincardine; dear sister of Robin (Ron) Van Moorsel, Theresa Merritt (Peter), and Tanya Merritt (Nick). Cherished wife of George; adored mother of Natalie Nurse (Jake), and loved stepmother of Jessica Cadick (Simon). Precious niece of Jane and Allan Bowers, and Betty Jeanne Catto. Dear sister-in-law of Grant (Vera), John (Patricia), and Susan. Predeceased by grandparents Charlie and Margaret Merritt, and Bessie and Frank Morgan, uncles Fred (Gail), Billy and Tommy Morgan and Ron Catto, and father-in-law and mother-in-law Joe and Irene Warecki. Survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends, especially Leslie Nuttall (Doug). Rhonda will be missed by many co-workers and parents of former pupils, and numerous teammates from soccer and pickleball.
Born in Kincardine, Rhonda grew up in Kitchener, Ingersoll, and Oakville where she attended high school. After obtaining her diploma in Early Childhood Education at Sheridan College, she completed a BA at York University. Rhonda loved working with young children. After rejoining her family in London, she had a long career in childcare, providing professional and fun-filled learning at several centres, most recently Sir Arthur Currie Public School.
Visitation will take place on Monday, November 24, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Westview Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, ON. Funeral Service will he conducted at Westview Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment to follow the service at Woodland Cemetery, London.
Donations may be directed to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre at Victoria Hospital.

Dear George, Natalie, Jessica and family; So sad to hear of Rhonda's passing. Such a difficult journey for Rhonda and for you George as you were her constant support. I am deeply saddened to hear of Rhonda’s passing. I had the privilege of working and learning from her at Sir Arthur Currie. She carried herself with such strength, dedication, and compassion. Her commitment to her work and the genuine kindness she showed to everyone around her will never be forgotten. To her family — her children, her husband, and all those who loved her — please accept my heartfelt condolences. I hope you find comfort in knowing how deeply she was respected, admired, and cherished.
I was one of Mrs. Warecki's students in kindergarden though now I am in eighth grade. I want her family to know that Mrs. Wareki was an amazing educator and one of my favourites and I will mourn her. Prosper George Corneil I too was one of Mrs. Warecki's many students and I am now in sixth grade. I will always remember how kind and open to everyone Mrs. Warecki was, including me. Thank you for being one of the best teachers I ever had. Ana-Luca Corneil I will always remember Mrs. Wareki as the best teacher, everyone loved her. I was also one of her students and I have many happy memories of her. She was always so excited to be teaching us even when we weren't the best kids. I had the privilege of working alongside Rhonda at SAC. Her care, compassion, and commitment to Early Childhood was infectious. What most call a job, was Rhonda’s calling. I am forever grateful to have known her. Sending my deepest condolences. ❤️

Anyone who worked with Rhonda was so lucky to get to spend time with her, get to know her, and see how much she absolutely loved her job. I am lucky to have been one of those people. She was so loved by her class and her colleagues, and I will always cherish our chats and laughs in the outdoor classroom. She will be so greatly missed.
In honour of Rhonda, her Tuesday pickleball friends have donated to Verpeeten Family Cancer Centre. She played with grace and was an awesome player on and off the court. She will be missed greatly. Sending love to her family.
