Suddenly and unexpectedly on Saturday, March 9, 2019. Beloved husband of Helen “H” for 35 years. Cherished father of Shawn Bawden (Drea Kenny), Susan Bawden (Tibor Szabo), and Andrew (Jen) Bawden. Proud “Rickie” of Matthew Szabo, Emma Szabo, Grace Goebelle, Evan Kenny, Shea Kenny, Nolan Kenny and Carter Bawden. Missed by his sister, Lynn Cassan (Brian Higgins), and their sons Mark and Eric. Also missed by his sister-in-law Jane White (Kit Doan). Rick leaves behind his adored, furry friend, Mizzy. A Celebration of Life will be conducted in May with details to follow. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Rick are asked to consider Diabetes Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

I will always remember his great laugh and smile. Wish I had heard all the sailing stories. I will remember you with laughter in my thoughts and a smile on my mind. I am Very grateful to have known you.
We are so saddened by this news and will miss Rickie. He was a spirited soul filled with insight, humour, zest for life and love for family. We only knew him for 10 years but he always made us feel like part of the clan and we always had fun with him. Our deepest condolences to all our dear friends at this very difficult time. Thinking about you all. 🤗

Helen and family, I am shocked by this news. My heart is breaking for all of you. Working for Rich at London soap for 15 years I have many funny and happy memories. He was taken way too young. May he rest in peace.
