Robert “Bob” Kenneth Manning

Robert, or Bob as he was called by family and friends, passed away peacefully at the age of 96 on Sunday, October 19, 2025, following a courageous battle with cancer. Bob was pre-deceased by his wife Kathie (2015) and is survived by his children Patty (Luc) of Amherstburg, Bob Jr. (Nancy) of St. Thomas, Christine (Barry) of Ailsa Craig, grandchildren Andrew, Jessica, Caitlin, Kyle, Jason and Rachelle, his eight great-grandchildren and Bob’s loving best friend Marilyn Hale.
Bob was an active member of St. Aiden’s Anglican Church and a volunteer for the Friends of the London Civic Garden Centre for many years. He was a magnificent gardener and loved sharing his knowledge of flowers and plants. He was a true optimist and saw the bright side of every day. Bob loved life and always had a smile on his face and a friendly greeting for everyone he met.
The family would like to thank the staff of Chartwell Riverside for their loving care and support, as well as Ontario Health at Home and the nurses from Paramed.
A celebration of life and service will take place at St. Aidan’s Anglican Church, 1246 Oxford Street West, London, on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, with visitation at 12:00 p.m. and service at 1:00 p.m., followed by a reception.

On behalf of the Friends of the London Civic Garden Complex, I wish to express our sincere condolences to Bob’s family and many friends. Bob volunteered with our group for over 10 years (he did manage to escape every now and then for time on the golf course). We will miss his helpful, friendly, caring heart and easy going personality. The greenhouse will be an empty place without him but we will honour him by reliving many happy memories of the good times we had together.

Memories
To Chris and family- we are thinking of you today as you have a Celebration of the Life of your dad. He was a good friend for many years and we enjoyed many things with him and your mom for many years and then in these later years we would met in Port Dover for lunch as a half-way point. We did many things together in Florida for many years. Sorry we are unable to join you today but our thoughts are with you. Sending our Love
