Robert (Rick) Alan Elder

Suddenly with family by his side, at University Hospital, on Monday, May 12, 2025, Robert (Rick) of London, Ontario in his 73^rd year.  Son of Mildred Elder (née Livingstone) and his father, the late Elmer Clare Elder. Beloved husband of Ann Marie Elder (née Loughlin), spouse for over 51 years.  Loving father of Jennifer Stephanie Elder. Adored grandfather (Papa) of Arianna Renée Elder-Johnson. Brother of Frederick Hall Elder and predeceased by his brother Gordon Elmer Elder.  He will be fondly remembered by his mother-in-law, Isobel Sweeney and his extended family.

Rick was a dedicated member of the Canadian Armed Forces for 25 years retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer. He spent 16 years with London Transit Commission and worked part-time with Leavens Mazda. He was honoured and proud to be President of the London chapter of the UN-NATO Veterans Group.

Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Rick’s wishes there will be no funeral.  A Celebration of Life will be held June 22, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Byron Legion.

Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, Canadian Cancer Society or the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada would be greatly appreciated. A special thank you to the hospital staff at the Emergency Department of University Hospital for the care given to Rick and his family.
