Camille, Penny and family: I have come across a note of Rod's passing, and am very sorry to know this. Camille, you spoke of him with humor and great pride as a brother many times while we worked together at Highview, and I know you will miss him. Although I was only in the store in Sarnia a couple of times (walked out with something wonderful of course....) and only said hello, he seems to have made a difference to his new friends and colleagues here. That is what it is all about - being able to leave a mark. He did. Thinking of you - Jane

Dear Penny & Family: We are so sorry for your loss and were very saddened by Rod's passing. We spent a lot of time with Rod in our youth and have many great and fun memories of Rod. He was a great guy and a lot of fun and even though we didn't see Rod in our senior years we often reminisced about the good old days with fondness and love. God Bless!

Dear Penny and Family, Jacquie and I were into Pish Posh to visit, and buy an old orange rocking chair from Rod just a week ago Saturday. Rod, always friendly, and ready with a smile, was a happy fixture in our Sarnia downtown. He will be greatly missed by many. May time, God's grace, and support of family and friends bring peace to all of us who grieve. Our prayers, and thoughts of sympathy reach out to you now. We apologize for being unable to attend the service, however, know we are thinking of you lots during this difficult time. Bill and Jacquie Walters

Penny, We are so sorry for your loss, we all feel honored to have been able to get to know Rod over the last year. He truly was one of those people that will leave lasting footprints on all of our hearts. His humor, and one line jokes kept me laughing everyday at the store he made the slow days go faster. His favorite line to me was "after everything I've done for you".and he would laugh. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and the family through this diffult time. He will be greatly missed by all. Penny, my sincerest sympathy goes out to your entire family in this time of deepest sorrow. There are no words that can comfort one at a time like this, but do take comfort in knowing that others are caring and thinking of you at this time and praying for the peace of heart and mind that will see you through the difficult time ahead. Condolences from all the members of our family at the sudden lost of Rod "A true friend will be greatly missed." He was a person of much humour and always brought joy to those who really knew him. I think he had a nickname for all his dear friends and found much delight in using them. When we had our auto accident in 1985, Rod never failed to visit me in the hospital every Sunday for the three months that I spent there. He will be missed for now but I know he will be there to greet us the next time we meet."One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple." Psalms 27:4 (KJV)

It is with great sadness that we've learned of Rod's passing. Rod and Penny were our beloved neighbors in Thamesford and were our gracious hosts while they lived in P.E.I. We were the first people who sailed on the maiden voyage of the fishing boat Rod rebuilt. Rod was truly a treasure. I don't think I've ever met a man who would was as original as he was. If he wanted to do something, he did it. Life was to be experienced in as many ways as possible and he found many, many ways. His sense of humor is legendary. There was always one more prank to pull and you hoped it wasn't going to be you it was pulled on, but if it was, there would always be great laughter shared. Truly one of a kind. While we haven't seen much of the Coulters in the last few years, please, Penny, Nancy, Ryan, Rachel and all of your family, know that you are in our thoughts and know we will always remember Rod as a great family man. He was taken too soon but he lived every day to the fullest. He will be missed.
