I was privileged to spend many a day or evening at the Gleason house when I was attending WCI. Mrs. Gleason was the social one always making me and friends feel comfortable in the house. Mr. Gleason was the quiet, intellectual one. I did manage to get into a few intellectual skirmishes with Mr. Gleason and each time I had to make a hasty retreat as I ran out of intellectual ammo while Mr. Gleason's intellectual weapons would be akin the equivalent of Russian S-400 anti aircraft ; his intellectual territory was a no fly zone for bumpkin me. But Mr. Gleason didn't rejoice in his victories and rub it in ,as I would have, and still do when I am occasionally victorious in verbal battles. Mr. Gleason treated our 'talks' as a leaning experience. Though I never attended any of his English classes I am quite confident they were magnificent. My condolences to the family.

Dear Audrey and family, so sorry to hear today of Roger's passing. Please accept our condolences. I have many fond memories of our family times together as children. We wish we could be there for the memorial service, but unfortunately will not be able to attend. Will be praying for your family at this difficult time. Even though we have the assurance that Roger is with his Savior and we will see him again, it is still difficult to say goodbye for a time. May God give you strength through the coming days.

Roger was an acquaintance through teaching, although he taught English at HPSS and I at WCI. At our school I had the privilege of teaching English to members of his family. On a more familiar basis, I had the privilege of coaching Garth and Dave basketball. I know he was a great dad. I speak a blessing on Audrey, Joan and the rest of the family at this difficult time.
