My condolences to all the Macaulay family. I was a student in his English class in the mid 1950's. Upon graduation from Western, I returned to my high school as a teacher and a colleague with Roger and most of the same teachers who were there when I was a student. He was very supportive in both roles -- as a teacher and a mentor with a great sense of humour.

My condolences to all the Family on Roger's passing. In the 1960's I was doing my very first show at London Little Theatre and he appeared, as some Board Members did, at one of our reheasals for West Side Story. This tall, handsome man often popped into other rehearsals for other shows and was always enthusiastic at what he saw and cheered the cast on. In a way, I remember him as a mentor to me as I went on to do bigger roles. He was my cheerleader in anything I did. Such a kind man with such a positive and supporting manner. I wish him peace and God's grace. Sincerely, Heather

Roger will alway have a special place in my memory. I enjoyed knowing him when I was a school trustee and admired his enthusiasm and commitment to education. As a person he bubbled over with enthusiasm. he will be missed

Roger was an amazing teacher with a dry sense of humour that his students loved. I don't know how he remembered everyone's name in the school, even those he didn't teach. If he temporarily forgot your name he would throw in a question about your sister or brother. One memory that still makes me chuckle is passing him in the hall one day and I had just been chosen for the junior cheerleading squad. He asked me to make sure that the girls knew something about football and basketball. He said there was nothing worse than a group of cheerleaders yelling "block that kick" when WE have the ball. He said, tongue in cheek, that it was a true story. To the Macaulay family my deepest sympathy. He was one in a million and will be greatly missed.

Roger was an outstanding teacher, among the very best and I gladly had a chance to tell him so at a Beck reunion. He had a big influence on me in that, starting in grade 10 history and on to grade 13 english he nurtured the fun and the love of learning. He inspired me to become a teacher which I did...without a moment of regret. He was my model. Forever in my memory. His coaching was remarkable and most successful. A group of us drove to Toronto for that championship basketball tournament. Unforgettable.! T o his family, my condolences and prayers. Roy Harvey, class of 1957, Beck collegiate

Saddened by Roger's passing. His name is synonymous with "mentor" much admired as an astute but fair-minded coach, a really down to earth speaker, a genuinely caring always helpful inspector, a principled administrator and a man of his community . He epitomized all the values of a great coach, teacher and friend. A good man has left his mark on us all . Great memories will prevail !

We extend our deepest condolences to all the Macauley's. Both in his work and private life, Roger was a true gentleman and a person who did much for to the London community. As long time neighbours on Embassy Ave, we remember our families growing up in the "good old days".

I extend my deepest sympathy to the entire Macaulay family. Roger was an exceptional man in many fields of endeavour. That which impressed me most, was his "down to earth" attitude and his genuine feeling for people. He always remembered you even though he met countless people over the years. He was able to make you feel important and special. He will be greatly missed. Memories live on. Alistair
